Mild flavored buttery shortbread cookie. Grandma (Nana) Laurence's recipe. Camille remembers wanting to eat these non-stop when visiting her at Christmas time. She always used the tree shape and decorated them with round multi-colored sprinkles.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolks and flavoring. Mix well.
Then add flour about 1/3 at a time. (A little less is better than a little extra. The dough needs to be wet enough to go through the press.)
Fill cookie press cylinder and press out the cookies. Supposedly they stick better if you chill the tray first. Decorate with sprinkles if desired.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 7-10 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen.
