Rosemma's Sugar Cookies


Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup shortening
     
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
     
  • 2 tsp vanilla butter nut extract
     
  • 1 egg
     
  • 4 tsp milk
     
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
     
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
     
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven 375º F.
     
  2. Grease cookie sheet.
     
  3. Cream the shortening, sugar, and extract.
     
  4. Add the egg, and beat until light and fluffy.
     
  5. Stir in milk.
     
  6. Combine dry ingredients into a separate bowl, and mix thoroughly.
     
  7. Sift dry mixture into wet mixture, and blend.
     
  8. Divide dough in half, and chill for 1 hour.
     
  9. Roll out dough and cut out shapes, and bake for 6-8 minutes.
