Beef Stew (2)

This is Tony's recipe, still a work in progress, but tasty so far.


Ingredients

  • 2 lb beef stew meat
     
  • 5 cups beef stock
     
  • 1/2 can tomato sauce
     
  • 3 tbsp flour
     
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
     
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
     
  • 1/2 tsp salt
     
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
     
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
     
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
     
  • 1.5 lb potatoes, diced
     
  • 4-5 carrots, chopped
     
  • 2/4 cup frozen peas (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the Garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and thyme in a bowl, set aside
     
  2. Mix the beef stew meat with flour, covering thorouhgly
     
  3. Pour the olive oil into a pot on medium-high heat.
     
  4. Once warm, add the beef and brown on all sides, being careful not to let it stick.
     
  5. Pour in the beef stock, tomato sauce, potatoes, carrots, and peas (optional), and seasonings, stirring to ensure everything is well mixed.
     
  6. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for ~2h.
