BBQ Chicken

Prep Time: 30m

Cooking Time: 20m

Servings: 6 chicken thighs

A simple, adjustable, and tasty marinade. Use your favorite BBQ sauce. I use Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ Sauce. Adjust the other flavors to your liking.

Ingredients

  • 6 boneless chicken thighs

  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4-1/2 tsp pepper (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Clean thoroughly of fat to prevent grill flareups

  2. Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl thoroughly; the olive oil will take a while to blend with the BBQ sauce; just be patient and keep stirring

  3. Place the chicken in a large ziploc bag, and pour marinade over the chicken

  4. Seal the bag and mix thoroughly to coat al the chicken pieces
    • HINT: Leave some air in the bad when you first seal it to allow room to move the sauce around the chicken. Once fully covered, carefully open the top and squeeze out as much air as possible, and then reseal, so that the marinade is always in contact with the chicken.
  5. Let marinate for at least 30 min, but preferrably up to 2 hours

  6. Turn grill on medium high, 425° F

  7. Take chicken out of the bag, allowing the marinade to drip back into the bag, and place on the grill.

  8. Flip the chicken every 4-5 minutes, and cook until the internal temperature is at least 165° F.

  9. Remove from grill and allow to rest for a few minutes before serving.
